Blogging During Covid
I haven’t shared much here or on my social media accounts lately, specifically since the pandemic began. For starters, overnight I became a kindergarten teacher and daycare worker, all while running my business and working fulltime. Much of my time has been spent worrying about my business, the people who depend on me for a paycheck, and what the future might look like.
My priorities shifted, plain and simple. Not to mention this blog is my creative outlet, my place to express myself —something I just haven’t felt like doing.
A dream vacation to Iceland with my husband, and my girls' trip to NYC for Caroline’s sixth birthday all were canceled. Who knows when we will be able to travel the world freely again? To be honest, the thought of that is depressing and even overwhelming at times. I love traveling and exploring, so being stuck at home is hard! Especially when you live for travel and adventure.
I have found little ways of adjusting to this temporary pause and am starting to see a less dismal future. These feelings are something many around the world are experiencing during this pandemic. Today I am healthy, happy (most of the time—let’s face it, small children and quarantine don’t mix), and motivated about taking on the future.
But for now, I've been spending more time focusing on the things right in front of me—my girls, my business, and all those DIY projects I dreamed of starting and finishing.
Over these past three months my husband and I have taken on a few in-home projects and I am looking forward to sharing them with you very soon!
Keep your heads up, fellow travelers, hustlers, moms, parents and boss ladies. We've got this!
XO,
Laurie
